2022 review in Auckland Contemporary Singing School
And we are again closing the year – already!? Time flies when you are having fun. What a year this has been!
We are happy to have shared a lot of singing with our students and excited about what’s coming in 2023!
But first, a little review of the 2022 highlights:
2022 highlights in Auckland Contemporary Singing School
Thuryah’ joining the team❤️
After many years of working solo, one of my dear students joined me as a teacher this year! She spent all year helping the youngest beginners make their first steps in singing. With great results!
It has been amazing to share my beloved singing space with someone and looking forward to more singing adventures together!
Thurya’s students absolutely love her as she is fun, very patient, and sweet.
She is currently preparing students aged 7-12 for their Debut grade. If you are interested in taking lessons with Thuryah, make sure you book your initial lesson today!
Rockschool exams
This year we again had a 100% passing rate for all our students sitting their Rockschool tests, with all of them achieving stunning results. At Auckland Contemporary Singing School, all students have the chance to sit international vocal exams under the Rockschool Syllabus, which really fosters their progress in singing. The amazing progress I see in my students year after year lets me know Rockschool was the right decision for us!
First kid’s showcase
After some years of frustration with the pandemic rules, this 2022 we were finally able to host our first-ever kids’ singing showcase!
We were thrilled to see our youngest students have a blast on stage and really apply what they learned this year.
Student’s group class
In 2022 we opened a regular, weekly space optional for all our private adult students. This is how our community group class opened its doors!
We met during the whole year every Tuesday at 7 pm to practice our performance skills and learn complementary skills such as music theory, vocal improvisation, vocal styles and genres, vocal harmonies, etc., and finally, we were able to integrate and apply all we learned in our Christmas choir showcase in December. What an achievement! And what a lot of fun we experienced!
We are looking forward to re-start the group class space in March 2022 with lots of new ideas and things to learn and explore!
Christmas workshop for kids
This year we offered a Christmas workshop for our youngest students and what a great experience it was! We were greatly surprise at how all the students were naturally cooperative and supportive of each other. They had a lot of fun too!
What’s new in 2023 in Auckland Contemporary Singing School
New studio space
We have great news – during January 2023 we will receive our new and improved singing studio space🥳🥳 in Unsworth Heighths (Auckland, North Shore), with a bigger space that will allow us to host small group classes and workshops, in addition to providing extra space for private lessons.
Kid’s group classes
In 2022 we are officially opening our weekly GROUP CLASS programs! We are starting with a complete beginner 7-12 group, but we are planning to incorporate more levels and age groups little by little.
Group classes for kids in Auckland are an amazing way to learn singing. Not only do you save money as they are more accessible than private lessons, but kids actually learn faster in a group environment as we found after our Christmas workshops. Not to mention they do get more motivated by it and have lots of fun in the process.
We are offering a promotion right now for everyone that wants to make the most of it and save some money: If you sign up your child for our group classes before the 20th of January we will waive the registration fee for you!

Group class students have also the chance to take casual private lessons with us to improve their skills even faster!
Adult’s new group class
In addition to our kids’ beginner singing group classes, we are also opening the space for ADULT beginners to take voice group classes with me. The group classes for adults contain the same content as our private lessons. The difference is that you will not only learn from the feedback I give to you, but also from the feedback I give to your classmates. Plus group classes are way more fun and a great opportunity to make friends!
Group classes, as well as our private singing students, will have the option to join our community group class as well.

Rockschool training program
In 2023 we will continue training our kids and teens with our favorite vocal syllabus: Rockschool. Rockschool is also open for any adult who wishes to go through a more structured training program for becoming a true contemporary singer or that simply wants to test their skills in a more formal way. From grades Debut through to Grade 8, students develop their skills in an organized manner, usually achieving faster, better and more solid results.
I am working hard on getting new tools up and running for all our Rockschool Students to progress faster and better.
Songwriting classes
During 2023 we will open our for the first time ever our Level 1 Songwriting workshop. This will be our first time offering this type of class, and it will start as a workshop but we don’t close the possibility of converting it into a weekly group class in the future.

Online singing programs
During 2023 we will continue offering all our singing programs ONLINE live in the same way that we offer them in person. We will also open our first ONLINE COURSES! A great way to learn to sing remotely. Our singing courses students will also have the unique opportunity to take casual lessons with me as well so I can check you are on track with your online studies! That way you really get the best of both worlds: the possibility to train with a complete program at your own pace and the comfort of your own home, in your spare time, AND the benefits of one on one tuition.
We are preparing a complete catalog a programs that will be organized in our own syllabus, and we are already working on our first course – if you are interested in being the first to know make sure you join our newsletter!
