Rockschool singing exams preparation in Auckland!

2021 comes with lots of news for our singing students in Auckland and online! Rockschool singing exams preparation is one of them.

During the past two years, I have been preparing singing students from a different music school to get their Rockschool vocals grade exams. This has given me great satisfaction as I see my students get motivated to practice with a goal in mind, and as a result, getting better and better at singing every single week.

Last year I had the pleasure to see the majority of Rockschool students achieving distinction marks in their intermediate and advanced exams. This has given me the confidence to now offer the same training at our dear singing studio.

Rockschool singing exams preparation: what is Rockschool?

Rockschool is an international examination board that offers musicians complete training from introductory to advanced and professional levels in contemporary music – focusing on their instrument of choice.

When you prepare yourself through the Rockschool examination board, you not only learn vocal technique and repertoire. You also learn and train other aspects that are compulsory if you not only want to have a good voice but also become a real musician with your voice.

Some of the skills you gain through the Rockschool vocal qualifications in Auckland are:

Who are the Rockschool vocal qualifications for?

The Rockschool syllabus is open to musicians of all ages. I specifically encourage students 9 to 18 years of age to consider training under the Rockschool vocals syllabus (whether or not they want to sit the exams), because it gives them a strong direction on their own home practice. But also because I love seeing my younger students having a specific goal and getting motivated to learn and deepen their skills! I also love seeing their sense of achievement when they receive their results and move on to their next level.

Rockschool singing exams preparation: how to get started in Auckland or online

The first step is to sign up for lessons. When we determine the grade that your child could train for, you can get your practice book and I will guide your child (or you) through the whole process. Once the student is ready to perform the exam, we will sign them up for the closer exam intake (at the moment exams take place in July and late November/early December).
